Over winter break I had the pleasure of helping throw a wedding shower for one of my best friends. The lovely bride to be is an avid reader, this girl has a library of beautiful books you wouldn't believe! I wanted to be sure we incorporated that love into the shower decor from start to finish. Here are the invitations made with the book theme in mind:
We did a brunch complete with yummy fresh fruit and veggie salads, quiche bites, and pastries. Here is part of the buffet. We used white linens, baby's breath in vases and book pages as table clothes for some of the round tables. Above the buffet table is a garland of heart shaped book paper and a wreath I made from book pages cut in the shape of leaves.
You cannot have a bridal shower without a champagne bar! We accomplished ours with fresh berries and juices. Also on hand was plenty of water with cucumber or citrus.
To complete the refreshments, we had bite size lemon cakes and these brownie bites, cut into hearts, stacked and kept together with toothpick flags made with more book paper.
The rest of the decor included flower inserts made with book pages punched into flower shapes and punched onto a skewer.
The Getting Hitched sign made with card stock, scrapbook paper, twine and brads.
Sprinkled throughout the rest of the room was more heart garland and garland made with buttons and twine.
It was an amazing time with wonderful family and friends. =)
I wish we'd met when I was engaged!! This is so class and wonderful, nice job!
